Frequently Asked Questions
What makes your camp the right choice for my child?
Whether this is the first camp experience for your child or it is their 100th, Pickleheadz makes sure every camper has an unforgettable and unique experience. Our team of camp experts and elementary school teachers cater our program to the interests of our campers.
What Training do the coaches have?
The majority of our counselors are Ontario Certified Teachers all of which have criminal background checks. Our other staff members include High School and University students from the Thorncrest Community. The Pickleheadz coaches have been carefully selected to provide the best and safest experience for all campers!
What should I bring to camp?
All campers should bring a hat, sunscreen, water bottle, snacks, a lunch, bathing suit, towel and wear running shoes.
What are the camp hours?
The camp runs from 9:00am to 4:00pm. For an extra fee, we offer an early drop-off at 8:00am and later pick-up until 5:30pm.
Can I register for a partial week?
Unfortunately we are unable to process partial weeks as we regularly reach capacity and often have a waiting list.
How is the Pool Supervised?
Our pool is guarded with 2 National Lifeguard Service (NLS) lifeguards as well as at least one Pickleheadz staff member on deck as the 3rd pair of eyes. The rest of the counselors are in the water and are responsible for a specified group of children. The Pickleheadz sports camp is full of fun and excitement, but we take our water safety very seriously.
How do I register?
The simplest way to register is to fill out a registration form and waiver found on the website and email it to Rob at email@example.com or drop it off at the clubhouse (35 Thorncrest Road, Etobicoke).
You can call Rob at 416-231-3181 with any further questions.
What is the cancellation policy?
All cancellations within 2 weeks of the start of the program are subject to a $25 administrative fee. No refunds for cancellations within 48 hours of the start of the program.
do i need to pack a lunch?
Yes, all campers are required to bring their own lunch and snacks unless they order with the Lunch Lady. We are unable to store any items in the refrigerator. Also, please remember that we are a nut-free camp.
What is the coach to camper ratio?
We have a maximum of 10 campers to every 1 coach ratio at all times. We regularly have extra support staff and volunteers that are not included in that ratio. In the pool we keep a 6 to 1 ratio in the water, with 3 people on deck (minimum 2 of which are Red Cross Certified Lifeguards).
